To accompany the highly successful exhibitions in Washington and Amsterdam of paintings by Jan Steen, the great 17th century Dutch painter, Globe has made this CD entitled "The Musical World of Jan Steen". The music making that can be seen on almost every one of Steen's paintings, can now finally also be heard in performances by the world famous Utrecht ensemble Camerata Trajectina. Performances that are as spirited and authentic as the paintings themselves. The CD comes in a slipcase with a 64 page booklet with English translations of the introductions, song texts, and reproductions of 33 paintings by Jan Steen, most of them in full colour.
