The Early Piano Variations, The First Piano Sonatas

A low-priced double CD, completely devoted to piano works of the young Beethoven performed on a beautiful copy of an authentic piano from the composer's time. The original CDs were first issued in 1993 and have always been very successful in our top price series. Little or no competition has since then been added to the international catalogues and certainly no better interpretations have come forward than these by Ronald Brautigam. These Variation works as well the first Piano Sonatas are the pieces with which Beethoven established his reputation in Vienna as pianist and composer and they still go on delighting music lovers all over the world.
