- The only existing CD in the catalogue completely devoted to the keyboard works of Sweelinck, the greatest Dutch composer of his age and to many the greatest composer ever to come from the Low Countries.

- The works are played on some of the most beautiful instruments to be found in the world today: a harpsichord by Joël Katzman based on the 1638 Johannes Ruckers harpsichord now in Edinburgh (an instrument similar to Sweelinck's own harpsichord), a virginal (for one of Sweelinck's greatest works, the Pavana Lachrimae) built after an instrument by Johannes Couchet from 1650 which is now in the famous Vleeshuis Museum in Antwerp and on the organ of the Wlllibrord Church In Oegstgeest, The Netherlands, which is a reconstruction of Sweelinck's own organ in the Old Church in Amsterdam with the original 17th century pipes!

- Miss Uittenbosch's recording of works by C.P.E. Bas was described in The Gramophone of August 1989 as 'in summary, a fascinating item". This release, which includes all of Sweelinck's major Variation Works, the world-famous Fantasia Chromatica and the most intense performance imaginable of the Pavana Lachrimae may be ranked among the most important recordings of early baroque music in today's whole catalogue.

Anneke Uittenbosch ranks among the world's leading interpreters of Baroque harpsichord music. Her performances on CD of works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Peter Philips for Etcetera, the complete Sonatas for Harpsichord and Violin by C.P.E. Bach with violinist Alda Stuurop for Globe (GLO 5004 & 5005) and Six Harpsichord Sonatas by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (Globe GLO 5011) have established a new standard of baroque interpretation.

With this CD Anneke Uittenbosch returns to the composer she knows and interprets better than anybody else in the world: Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Over the years she has made a profound study of Sweelinck's works and as such has been recognized internationally as the authority on Sweelinck performances.
