The Austrian reed player Karlheinz Miklin and the American drummer legend Billy Hart have been playing together – with great Ron McClure on bass - for more than twenty five years, first in quartet, from 2000 on in trio format. Since 2008 the renowned Swiss bass player Heiri Kaenzig has been part of the trio as already documented with “Cymbal Symbols” (TCB 30902). They are three "grown up" musicians that can rely on lots of experience but at the same time remain curious and on the look-out for new means of expression. Their personal relationship and mutual understanding of music are the basis for their collaboration, as well as the privilege of not having to prove anything to anybody any more. The music was recorded live as most of the releases of this group. The three consider the immediate communication and expression on stage as essential for their music. It demonstrates anew that it pays off to stay true to the „working-group-concept“ and made "Encore" a real milestone in the long history of this trio.
