Born in the Netherlands, this complete trumpet player has been following his musical path with well-known colleagues and ensembles from around the world for more than 25 years.
 

 
Rob Bruynen was born in the south of the country, and discovered his creative abilities early on. He started to improvise at just fourteen, and played as a jazz trumpeter in local big bands. After studying both classical and jazz at the Hilversum Conservatorium, he started his career as a lead and solo trumpeter, playing with famous bands such as The Dutch Jazz Orchestra and the Metropole Orchestra. He has been the lead and solo trumpeter in the world famous WDR Big Band since 1986 and has won two Grammys, as well as numerous other awards. Rob Bruynen has stood on stage with countless famous musicians including Quincy Jones, the Brecker Brothers, Maceo Parker, Joe Lovano, Phil Collins, Ray Brown and Joe Zawinul. He is undoubtedly one of the greats of his profession!
